The Basics
Alphaeon Credit is a healthcare credit card issued by Comenity Capital Bank, specifically designed for patients who need to finance elective medical and cosmetic procedures. It provides a revolving line of credit — much like a standard credit card — that is accepted exclusively at participating healthcare providers within the Alphaeon network. The card covers dental procedures, LASIK, cosmetic surgery, dermatology, bariatric surgery, veterinary care, audiology, and hair restoration at 12,260+ providers across the United States.
Alphaeon Credit Card accounts are issued by Comenity Capital Bank, an FDIC-regulated financial institution based in Salt Lake City, Utah. Comenity Capital Bank is a well-established issuer of private-label and co-branded credit cards with millions of accounts in the United States. The Alphaeon Corporation is the healthcare company that manages the provider network and brand, while Comenity Capital Bank handles all credit and account operations.
No — the program and CareCredit are entirely separate products from different financial institutions. This financing is issued by Comenity Capital Bank and operates a network of 12,260+ specialty healthcare providers. CareCredit is issued by Synchrony Bank with a much larger network of 270,000+ providers. Both use deferred-interest promotional financing, but their provider networks, approval criteria, and terms differ. See our full comparison →
Yes. The card is a genuine, FDIC-regulated revolving credit card issued by Comenity Capital Bank. It functions like any other revolving credit line — you have a credit limit, make minimum monthly payments, and can carry or pay off a balance. The key distinction is that it is a closed-loop card, meaning it can only be used at participating the card providers, not for general purchases.
Applying for the account
You can apply for Alphaeon's financing online at goalphaeon.com or directly through a participating provider's office. The application process begins with pre-qualification — you enter basic personal information (name, address, SSN, income), and receive a pre-qualification decision in under 60 seconds using a soft credit inquiry. If pre-qualified, you can complete the full application to receive your credit limit and account details.
To apply for this card, you will typically need: your full legal name as it appears on government ID; your current home address; your Social Security Number (SSN); your date of birth; your annual household income; and a valid email address and phone number. Having this information ready before starting the application ensures the fastest possible processing.
Most applicants complete the pre-qualification in under 60 seconds and the full application in under five minutes. The application is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, on any internet-connected device. If you apply through a participating provider's office, their financial coordinator can guide you through the process in real time.
Standard it applications require a Social Security Number (SSN) as part of the identity verification and credit check process. Comenity Capital Bank requires SSN for all applicants for U.S. regulatory compliance purposes. ITIN applicants should contact Comenity Capital Bank directly at the number on the official Alphaeon's card website to discuss available options.
Approval & Credit Requirements
Pre-qualification does not hurt your credit score. The initial eligibility check uses a soft credit inquiry, which is invisible to other lenders and has absolutely no impact on your credit score. You can check your pre-qualification as many times as you want without any score effect. A hard credit inquiry — which does appear on your credit report briefly — only occurs when you formally accept the full credit account after pre-qualification.
Comenity Capital Bank does not publicly disclose a minimum credit score for this financing approval. Based on consumer reports and industry analysis, applicants with fair credit (approximately 600+) are commonly approved, though credit score is just one factor. Comenity also evaluates income, existing debt load, payment history, and credit utilization. The best way to determine your eligibility without any risk is to pre-qualify — it's a soft inquiry only.
Applicants with poor credit (below 580) face a harder approval path but are not automatically disqualified. Comenity Capital Bank considers the full credit profile, including income stability and debt-to-income ratio. If you have lower credit but strong income and low debt, approval remains possible. Pre-qualifying does not affect your score, so it is always worth checking. If declined, consider building your credit for 3–6 months and reapplying.
The card offers limits from $200 up to $25,000, determined individually based on your creditworthiness at the time of application. Factors include your credit score, income, existing monthly debt obligations, and credit history. You will see your approved credit limit immediately upon completing the full application. If you need more than your initial limit, Comenity Bank may offer credit limit increases after responsible account management.
Interest Rates & Financing Terms
The account offers 0% promotional APR on qualifying purchases of $250 or more during promotional periods of 6, 12, 18, or 24 months. The standard ongoing APR after the promotional period is 28.99% variable, based on the Prime Rate. This rate applies to any balance carried after the promotional period ends, or to purchases that don't qualify for promotional financing.
Deferred interest is a financing model where interest accrues on your balance throughout the promotional period but is waived if you pay the full balance by the promotional period's end date. Here's the critical detail: if any portion of your balance remains after the promotional period ends, all of the interest that was deferred from day one is charged to your account retroactively — at the full standard APR. On a $5,000 balance over 18 months at 28.99% APR, that retroactive charge could exceed $1,000. Always pay the full balance before your promotional period expires.
The program requires a minimum monthly payment, as with any credit card. The minimum payment amount is calculated based on your outstanding balance and financing plan, and is shown on your monthly statement. Important: Making only minimum payments during a promotional period will likely leave a remaining balance when the promotion ends — triggering retroactive deferred interest. To avoid this, calculate the total balance divided by the number of promotional months and pay that amount each month.
No. The credit line has no annual fee. You will not be charged simply for having the card open and available for use. Standard account fees such as late payment fees and returned payment fees may apply, as disclosed in the card's terms and conditions.
Using Your Alphaeon Credit Card
The card accounts are managed through Comenity Capital Bank's online account portal and mobile app. You can make one-time online payments, set up automatic recurring payments (highly recommended), view statements, check your balance, and manage account settings. You can also pay by phone by calling the number on the back of your card or on your statement. Setting up autopay for the full promotional balance ÷ number of months is the safest approach.
Yes. Because this financing is a revolving line of credit, you can use it for multiple procedures over time — as long as you have available credit. As you pay down your balance, that credit becomes available again (just like a regular credit card). Each qualifying purchase at a participating provider can start a new promotional financing period. This is one of it's key advantages over one-time installment loans.
The account is a closed-loop card — it can only be used at participating providers within the Alphaeon network. If your current provider doesn't accept the account, you have two options: (1) ask your provider if they can join the Alphaeon network, or (2) consider an alternative like CareCredit (270,000+ locations) or Prosper Healthcare Lending, which has a broader reach. You can verify provider participation at goalphaeon.com before applying.
Finding Providers
The official provider locator tool is available at goalphaeon.com. You can search by specialty (dental, cosmetic, vision, dermatology, veterinary, audiology) and ZIP code to find participating providers in your area. The network includes 12,260+ locations across all 50 states. You can also call any healthcare provider's office and simply ask: "Do you accept the program?"
Yes. This financing covers both elective and emergency veterinary procedures at participating animal hospitals and clinics. This is an important differentiator from some competitors like Prosper Healthcare Lending, which focuses exclusively on human healthcare. If your veterinarian participates in the Alphaeon network, you can use the credit line for surgeries, dental cleanings, diagnostics, and other pet care expenses.
Yes. The card covers audiology services including hearing aids at participating audiologists and hearing centers. This is notably one area where the program has an advantage over CareCredit, which has more limited audiology coverage. Hearing aids can cost $2,000–$8,000 per pair, making the 12- to 24-month promotional financing particularly valuable for this category.
